Mewar Polytex Ltd.

Mr B.H. Bapna, a visionary industrialist returned to India after spending 14 years in the USA developing electrical control systems for spacecraft. He founded Mewar Polytex (Mewar) in 1979 as a Private Limited company, with the aim of converting heavyweight HDPE raffia fabric to lightweight Polypropylene fabric.

Woven sacks were earlier made using HDPE on ordinary shuttle looms until Mr Bapna introduced Polypropylene (P.P.) on air jet looms. Since then Mewar has been known for quality products and timely delivery at competitive prices. It increased its monthly production capacity in 1985 and replaced flat looms with circular looms in 1990.

Mewar set up a new unit in 1995 with an increased capacity of 120 MT per month and initiated export sales in 1996, supplying to different European countries and USA. In 2016 MPL received NTPEP certification for Geotextile fabric and launched a mega project in 2020 with a monthly capacity of 1000 MT. The current installed capacity of the Mewar group of companies is 5000 MT per month.
